Student Activities

Iliahi Elementary offers several programs (co-curricular and extracurricular) that promote school and community service. These programs also help develop our students academically, behaviorally and socially.  

Iliahi Coders

Iliahi Coders is an after-school coding program for grades 2 and 3, which provides an opportunity to learn computer science. The skills obtained in the coding program will assist our students in utilizing critical thinking and problem solving skills, and their creativity.

Junior Police Officer (JPO)

The primary function of the Junior Police Officer program is to provide safe crossing of the streets. The JPOs must be 4th/5th graders and are recommended by the teachers. All students are advised to follow the directions of the JPOs.

Dragon Dollar Store

In collaboration with our “Positive Behavior Support” program, student are awarded “Dragon Dollars” for positive behavior, which they use to make purchases at the Dragon Dollar Store. The Dragon Dollar Store is staffed by 4th and 5th graders who are recommended by their teachers and who best exemplify the PBS goal of "Be Responsible, Be Respectful and Be Safe." 

Iliahi Student Council

The Iliahi Elementary School’s Student Council is comprised of 4th and 5th grade students who take on the roles of officers and representatives.

Na Kamali'i O 'Iliahi

Na Kamali’i O ‘Iliahi is an after school ukulele program which focuses on perpetuating the Hawaiian and local musical traditions through the playing of the ukulele, singing, and hula dancing. Na Kamali’i also promotes a positive self-esteem, as ukulele members practice and perform in front of large audiences throughout the Wahiawa community and the island of ‘O’ahu. DC Hui

This club is open to grades 4 and 5 students who want to show their talents and promote positive behaviors: working together (Laulima), humbleness (Ha’aha’a), loving kindness (Aloha), good health (Ola kino) and a positive lifestyle of physical activity and dance. D.C. Hui performs at various school events and events around the community.          

Enrichment

Iliahi is among nine schools in the Leilehua Complex committed to addressing the needs of its gifted and talented population. Collectively, the Leilehua Complex schools have developed a plan that would assist all students to develop their potential by providing a continuum of services focusing on differentiated opportunities, students’ interests, readiness, and learning styles. 

Dragobots

Dragobots is a team-oriented club in which students work together to build robots, then use the robots to compete against each other on given tasks and challenges. During club meetings, students will learn to use communication and collaborative skills and use a hands-on approach to solve problems.
